We always appreciate when athletes are honest about why they sign with a certain team. Usually it's because the team offered the most money or the team plays in a warm climate, but Nori Aoki kept it realer than most when discussing why he chose to sign with the Mariners
Aoki says he came to Seattle "for the coffee and also to win a World Series."

Aoki has his priorities straight here. How are you supposed to enjoy a World Series title if you can't even stay awake?
This piece of honesty from Aoki shows Seattle may have found an inefficiency in the way teams recruit free agents. Someday in the near future, coffee will replace cold hard cash as the currency that drives how free agents determine their next landing spot, and when that happens the Mariners will be the new Yankees.
