In March, the NFL adopted a rule that allowed defenses to score on extra points if they successfully returned a block/interception/fumble to the opposite end zone. Many promptly forgot about the rule because it never came into play. UNTIL NOW:
New Orleans blocked Carolina's extra point attempt and from there it was a scoop and score for NFL history. The first defensive points on an extra point. Kevin Williams came up with the block for the Saints and the ball bounced perfectly to Stephone Anthony, who only needed to get by the kicker then outrun the holder. That might just be the most effort an NFL player has ever put into scoring two points.
Anthony is having himself a day, having already scored a defensive touchdown in the game.
