Marshawn Lynch is trademarking 'I'm just here so I won't get fined'

Marshawn Lynch uttered his famous phrase "I'm just here so I won't get fined" ahead of the Super Bowl, and now if you use it without his permission you might get fined yourself -- or at least taken to court.

Lynch filed a trademark on the phrase with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last week according to ESPN.com, and you'll soon be seeing it on clothing from his "Beast Mode" line.

"We heard from our fans and so many of them were saying that they wanted that phrase on the clothing," Chris Bevans, who runs Lynch's "Beast Mode" apparel line, told ESPN.com. "This is just listening to the marketplace."

This is Lynch's third trademark on popular phrases he's coined, joining "Beast Mode" and "About that action BOSS." If nothing else, the Seahawks' running back has a future in branding whenever he's done with the NFL, because it's safe to say he won't become a member of the media like so many other retired players.
