Dee Gordon and the Miami Marlins formally announced a five-year contract worth $50 million on Monday. It is Gordon's first massive contract after earning a total of $4.6 million during the first five years of his MLB career. Part of Gordon's new mega-deal was a $1.5 million signing bonus. So, how did he go out and celebrate?
With chicken McNuggets at McDonalds.
At 7 p.m. ET, Gordon tweeted out a thank you to the Marlins and fans:
Glad I can finally get some sleep! Thank you everyone for your kind words and congratulations...and thank you @Marlins for this blessing. ⚡️

A little more than an hour later, Gordon was at McDonalds tweeting about McNugget sauce:
Why at @McDonalds they ask you what kindof sauce you want? Everyone want sweet and sour sauce lol

That is certainly one way to celebrate. And for Gordon it might be the best way possible, as he is a noted McDonalds fan.

And like any seasoned McNuggets eater, Gordon also has strong opinions on sauce.

$50 million will buy a whole lot of McNuggets. McDonalds in Miami better stock up on sour sauce.
