Tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova had a strange, but sensible incident during her WTA Finals round robin match on Monday against Agnieszka Radwanska. Kuznetsova won the first set 7-5, but lost the second set 1-6, and it turned out her long hair was interfering with her play. So before the start of the third set, Kuznetsova asked the umpire for a pair of scissors and gave herself a haircut.
Well, @SvetlanaK27 with something you don't see everyday. A self haircut while playing tennis ✂️ #WTAFinals pic.twitter.com/j9CwFn7MJ2

And it totally helped — Kuznetsova won the match thanks to the haircut. According to BBC, Radwanska had no idea Kuznetsova cut her hair before the third set:
"I didn't even know that," said the Pole. "Good thing she didn't cut her anything else. I think hair is not very important."
Apparently, the momentum (and loss of hair) seeped into Kuznetsova’s match on Wednesday, when she defeated Karolina Pliskova. This is great and all, but self-haircuts during a match don’t always work for everyone. Andy Murray tried to do that last November, and he fell to Rafael Nadal anyway.
