This is Joel Embiid, a tall, good basketball superstar in the making. Sixers fans love him, and he loves them.
Embiid changed his name on Instagram to “The Process.”

He even asked the Sixers PA announcer to introduce him as “The Process.” ... AND IT’S ACTUALLY HAPPENING.

I’m going to let SB Nation’s Sixers blog Liberty Ballers explain why Philly fans love this so much:
This is a meta level of Hinkie’s Process Sixers fans have yet to encounter. Embiid’s journey from presumed top pick in the 2014 NBA draft to a mysterious, injury-plagued potential savior over the last two years embodies The Process better than any single person to come through the organization over the previous three years save for Hinkie himself.
Embiid’s self-awareness in this situation seems unparalleled, especially given the fact that he’s playing for a team that is trying in vain to rid itself of the culture and and [sic] remnants of the Hinkie era. It’s a futile effort on their part. The Process supersedes flipping mediocre veterans for second round [sic] picks, fleecing general managers swiftly with the team’s plethora of cap space and even Hinkie’s standing with the Sixers. The Process is the grind, the continuous attempt to better oneself for the dream of a parade down Broad Street.
Joel is the best.
