Rob Gronkowski is not a great singer. It’s been proven many times, in his Dunkin’ Donuts duet with David Ortiz, his other donut duet with Ortiz, that time he went on stage at a Paul McCartney show, and that time he freestyled at a bar.
Gronk even admits it:
Gronk on his singing voice: "It's kind of average. I wish I could sing."— Jeff Howe (@jeffphowe) November 10, 2016
Despite that, the folks at EA Sports decided to make him sing in a Madden NFL 17 commercial. In it, he does a parody of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer,” because “prayer” rhymes with “player,” and well, you get the rest of the premise.
Is he a better singer in this commercial? No. Does he spike anything? Yes. That’s to be expected with anything Gronk-related.
