The matchup between the Texans and Raiders on Monday Night Football has been a pretty good one, but there was an unfortunate distraction in the game.
Someone in the crowd was flashing a laser pointer on the field, and it was particularly noticable on Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler.
The laser pointing continued in the second half, first shining on Lamar Miller in a third quarter run:
Then on Brock Osweiler, when he was trying to scramble:
ESPN said stadium security was trying to find out who was responsible for the interference, but never reprimanded the individual.
After the game, Osweiler said, “There was multiple times I saw a green laser coming from the stands. There was a couple of times it definitely hit me in the eye. It was very noticeable.”
He added, “I never want to say one thing’s a difference maker, but certainly having a laser zoomed in on your eyeball definitely affects how you play a game.”
