Last Thursday, a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League referee was struck in the groin with a beer can during a match between the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Huskies player Francis Perron was given a roughing penalty in the second period. In response to the penalty, Perron's older brother Alexandre threw a beer can at referee Dominick Bédard. According to Le Journal de Montreal, Bédard managed to finish officiating the game after his injury. Meanwhile, police arrested Perron, who could possibly face assault charges.
