Cam Newton has drawn more than his share of criticism following the Panthers' loss in the Super Bowl. A lot of the critics have pointed to this play late in the game when Newton didn't appear to give maximum effort diving for a fumble.
Maybe no one was harsher than Newton for that play than one of his fellow NFL players. Seattle defensive lineman Frank Clark did not hold back his thoughts on Newton's effort.

"That boy a bitch," Clark said. "I can't wait to play his punk ass. Made the decision it wasn't worth it in the Super Bowl."
That is the type of thing a player might tweet, immediately regret, then delete. Not Clark. He's left the tweet up for more than 21 hours and isn't retracting anything he said.
The first immediate reaction might just be scoreboard. Clark and the Seahawks played Newton and the Panthers twice this season and lost both times. That included in the playoffs when Carolina ended Seattle's season. Clark is well aware of that fact.
Hey I've lost twice to him though, boy good but no respect. Backbone of this league is Toughness. Crunch time he want grapes, I'm eating mud

The Panthers and Seahawks played a pair of very entertaining games this season. They also figure to be two of the leading contenders in the NFC next season. There was going to be plenty of hype around them and Clark is only adding fuel and bulletin board material.
Thanks to the NFL scheduling system, Clark and Newton can settle any issues on the field next season. The Seahawks will host Carolina in what has the makings of a prime time matchup. Clark is well aware of that, too.
Respected this mans game until then. See ya week 5.
