Stony Brook's Jameel Warney got recognized by 'Return of the Mack' singer, his basketball muse

New, comment

Stony Brook's Jameel Warney is about to become your favorite player in the NCAA Tournament. Not only is he an incredibly awesome player who dropped 43 points on Vermont in the America East championship on Saturday, but he credits every single game to Mark Morrison -- singer of "Return of the Mack."

Never mind that Warney was 2 years old when Morrison dropped "Return of the Mack," this college superstar is a classicist. After months of tweeting Morrison and thanking him for good games, it happened -- Morrison took notice.

On Sunday morning Morrison liked two of Warney's tweets from the previous day.

This unlikely pairing is the kind of union that can propel Stony Brook deep into your office bracket. Nobody else has Mark Morrison on their side. You can scoff at that all you want, but maybe you've forgotten just how dope "Return of the Mack" is.

The best part is that Morrison contacted Warney.
