The dancing 107-year-old Obama guest hung out and danced with the Harlem Globetrotters

She's shimmied her way from the White House to the basketball court

One month ago, 106-year-old Virginia McLaurin danced her way into our hearts when video came out of her meeting with the Obamas. Since then, she has actually turned 107(!) years old, and on Tuesday got the chance to show off her moves at the Roots Public Charter School in Washington, DC, where McLaurin volunteers with a few members of the Harlem Globetrotters.

From start to finish, the video footage is hear-warming, adorable, and joyous. Here are some of the best moments:

  1. At the 0:48 mark, the Globetrotters help "Grandma Virginia" spin the ball on her finger, at which point her smile lights up the room.
  2. When prompted to give some advice to the kids in attendance at 1:18 in the video, McLaurin takes the mic and says: "Obey your parents, your mother and your father. Go to school and get ALLLL the education you can get!"
  3. Finally, McLaurin poses with and shows off her new custom Harlem Globetrotters jersey with number '107' and a custom Globetrotters-themed cake given to her to help celebrate her recent birthday.
Here's to hoping Grandma Virginia keeps dancing for more birthdays to come.
