At the Timbers game, the national anthem ended, these banners raised up, and yep, I got chills. #pride2016 pic.twitter.com/dvTYMRO2zs

Sunday was Pride Day, and some major sports organizations participated in the celebration. NBA commissioner Adam Silver and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum marched alongside NBA employees in New York.
And while the Portland Timbers couldn't attend a Gay Pride Parade — as the squad had a game against the Houston Dynamo — they celebrated in their own way. As the national anthem ended, the Timbers fans raised up banners that read "Love is a human experience not a political statement," displayed across three giant rainbow flags.
