Heath Slater's 18-suture laceration is a reminder that WWE injuries are very real

New, comments

Yes, wrestling is predetermined but that doesn't mean that the competitors don't get hurt. Their work schedules can be grueling, leaving very little time for recovering. More often than not, the wrestlers are always sore.

But then there are the injuries that aren't the result of months' worth of wrestling. Injuries can happen at the drop of a dime and some even resemble MMA injuries. This one isn't as bad as the injury sustained by Cyborg Santos, whose head was literally kicked in, but it's still a reminder that the injuries in wrestling are very real.

This gash suffered by Heath Slater during a house show required 18 stitches to close, but he'll be back in the ring soon. Still, it's a pretty gnarly injury.
