Henrik Sedin’s latest milestone was straight out of a storybook.
The Vancouver Canucks captain entered Friday night’s game against the Florida Panthers just one point away from hitting the 1,000-point mark. It took him a while, but he did it.
Early in the second period, Henrik and his twin brother Daniel Sedin broke in on a 2-on-1. Daniel dished the puck to Henrik, who put it home to hit 1,000. How fitting is that?
Even more fitting: the goal came against goalie Roberto Luongo, who was the captain of the Canucks before Henrik, and a longtime teammate of the twins.
The little face-wash Henrik gave Luongo was adorable.
Henrik is the 85th player in NHL history to hit 1,000 points in his career.
