What’s the nicest thing you’ve ever gotten your parents for Christmas?
Former University of Virginia baseball player Pavin Smith has a pretty great answer to that question: Their house.
Thank you for everything you have done for me! This doesn’t make up for any of it. Love you both so much. Our home is finally all YOURS. Merry Christmas! pic.twitter.com/h9wog2HfHv

This is awesome! Smith, who’s a first baseman for the Hillsboro Hops, a minor league team in the Diamondbacks organization, paid off his parents’ mortgage for Christmas.
Now that’s a gift!
According to ESPN, Smith went seventh overall in the 2017 draft and signed a contract worth $5,016,300.
Gonna keep it 100 — I got my mom a pair of slippers for Christmas. They were very nice slippers, for sure, but they’re not quite as good as, say, paying off the family house.
What an awesome thing to do for the people who helped you succeed.
