Why Floyd Mayweather is going to destroy Conor McGregor — in two Instagrams

New, comment

Here’s the video evidence.

The Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight on August 26th is already the most anticipated sporting event of the summer, with one of boxing’s all-time greats facing off against one of MMA’s biggest names in the ring. But if these new Instagram videos are any indication, the fight might not be much of a fight.

The first video, posted Thursday, is one of McGregor practicing his punch in his gym, complete with a mural of him punching Mayweather.

“You've never seen these moves. #Ghost,” he boasted in the caption.

McGregor certainly doesn’t look bad — the man could beat me up with his pinkie finger while taking a selfie with the other hand. But Mayweather’s not some wiry sports blogger — he’s one of the greatest boxers in the world and he’s been doing some training of his own:

“I know I'm not the same fighter I was 20 years ago, I'm not the same fighter I was 10 years ago... As a matter of fact, I'm not the same fighter I was 5 years ago, I'm just an old legend putting in work in 16 oz gloves,” Mayweather wrote. It was a modest message while he showed off his famous speed and precision.

And to be honest, it looks like that speed and precision might be too much for McGregor. Just compare the two videos ... it’s no contest.

We’ll have to wait until August to see who the winner REALLY is. But until then, let’s hope they both keep posting training videos ... for a sneak peak AND a little bit of #FitnessMotivation.
