Tom Brady’s mother, Galynn, is getting a Super Bowl ring, thanks to Patriots owner Robert Kraft. On Friday, Brady spoke with ESPN about how Kraft was supportive of his family:

“He was always asking, ‘How's mom doing? How is she feeling?’ We didn't know up until the very end whether she was going to make it to the Super Bowl. She was a big inspiration for me, and RKK knew it. It was a great surprise to all of us when the ring showed up. She deserves it.”

In the lead-up to Super Bowl 51, it was reported that Galynn had been undergoing cancer treatments throughout the 2016 NFL season, which was understandably stressful for Brady and his family. Although she couldn’t attend any of his games during the season, she was able to make it to Super Bowl 51 and see her son win his fifth ring. Since then, Tom Brady Sr. confirmed with the Boston Globe that her health has improved and that she completed cancer treatments in April.
