Rafael Nadal felt extra celebratory Thursday at the U.S. Open. After defeating Taro Daniel to advance to the third round, Nadal spent extra time on the court volleying tennis balls to the crowd.
At one point, he aimed at one fan in a purple sweater who sat in the upper level of the stands. It seemed like he was too far to lob a ball over to him, and yet Nadal made it happen ... almost. It turned out the ball went a few inches too high and it missed the fan:

But still, the fact that Nadal called his shot like that is wild.
Also, shout out to Nadal for pulling a fast one on other fans. (He eventually lobbed it to them.):
