If you ever get annoyed that an airline won’t upgrade you, no matter how legitimate your reason, you can feel a little better knowing that not even gold meal winning Olympians get preferential treatment.
Look, it’s easy to laugh at Delta being so clueless and turn to a stock corporate-speak answer, but I kinda feel for the customer service agent tasked with responding to complaints on Twitter. Not every company gives their employees room to have fun, and so poor “AJL” is getting flack for seeming out of touch, when they might not have any say in the matter.
That said, upgrade the dang curling team please. They just won gold. Honestly, it’s kinda surprising they were flying coach in the first place.
