Boston Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew has been terrible at the plate during the postseason, only collecting four hits over 44 at-bats. His latest display of hitting prowess came in the top of the fifth inning, when the Red Sox had runners on the corners with nobody out.
Drew did work a 3-2 count, but struck out on a Joe Kelly changeup. His bottom hand slipped off the bat during his swing, not the sign of a hitter on the top of his game:
Drew has played strong defense up the middle, but the calls for someone else to handle shortstop will only grow louder as he continues to be a liability offensively.
