The 2014 MLB Hall of Fame class will be announced by the Baseball Writers Association of America at 2 pm ET on Wednesday, Jan. 8. MLB Network will begin airing coverage of the event at noon. Results will also be released at 2 on the Hall of Fame website and the BBWAA website.
The following 36 players are on the ballot this year:

Morris is on his 15th ballot, meaning he will not be eligible for election by the BBWAA after this year. Mattingly, on his 14th ballot, will have one more year of eligibility remaining. There are 19 first-timers up for election, including Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Frank Thomas and Mike Mussina. Those who receive less than 5% of voting will no longer remain on the ballot in following years.
