Madison Bumgarner, Buster Posey launch grand slams

Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner have formed a very effective battery this year and they both can do some damage at the plate too.

Madison Bumgarner is having another solid year on the mound this season and he proved Sunday that he can also do damage at the plate. The All-Star pitcher looked like a Home Run Derby participant when he launched a fastball from Matt Stites over the left field wall for a grand slam.

The home run was Bumgarner's second of the season. It was also the second grand slam the Giants hit in the game. Bumgarner's battery mate, Buster Posey gave the Giants a 4-1 lead an inning earlier with a grand slam of his own. It's not everyday a team hits two grand slams in a game. It's even more rare for a pitcher to hit one and the fact a pitcher and catcher both hit grand slams makes it even more unusual.

The Giants went on to win the game with Bumgarner collecting the win to go along with his two hits and four RBI.
