The city of Chicago will have a championship parade over a century in the making, celebrating the Chicago Cubs’ World Series victory on Friday through the streets of downtown.
The Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 on Wednesday night at Progressive Field in Cleveland, completing their comeback from down three games to one in the World Series, and winning their first championship since 1908.
The parade is expected to run from Wrigley Field to Grant Park on Friday, but the parade map and starting time have yet to be announced. This post will be updated when more news comes out.
Chicago Mayor issued a statement on Wednesday night after the Cubs won Game 7.
