NCAA Baseball Tournament 2016: Bracket, schedule and scores for super regional round

Whittled from 64 teams to 16, college baseball's version of March Madness continues into the second round this weekend.

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

The super regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament had its first casualty on Saturday night when Arizona stormed back from a 5-1 eighth-inning hole, knocking out Mississippi State for a shocking 2-0 sweep in Starkville.

Upsets have been the theme through the first two days of the second round. On Saturday night in Baton Rouge, Coastal Carolina took a 1-0 series lead with a commanding 11-8 route (three LSU runs in the ninth embellished the score). Earlier in the day, Florida State shut out No. 1 overall seed Florida, 3-0, while UC Santa Barbara took the first game of the Louisville Super, 4-2. Texas Tech and Texas A&M both lost on Friday, though each came back to even their respective series on Saturday. In total, national seeds went a combined 1-6 in Game 1s. The only one to win their opener, No. 3 Miami, lost Game 2 to Boston College on Saturday.

With national seed already eliminated and the rest on the brink, Sunday and Monday should be plenty eventful.

Unlike the regional round, every game of the supers will air on TV, with all games also available for streaming via WatchESPN.
