The Twins played ‘Sexy and I Know It’ to celebrate Bartolo Colon’s complete game

Bartolo Colon gave up two runs in the first inning of the Twins game against the Rangers on Friday night, slipped up with another run allowed in the third inning, yet somehow stayed in the game all the way through the ninth inning to successfully pitch a complete game.

With a final line of nine innings pitched, nine hits, and four runs, the 44-year old Colon became the oldest pitcher to pitch a complete game since Jamie Moyer in 2010.

On top of his impressive outing and the excitement around the fact that he completed a full game on the mound at all, was a particularly fun music cue from the Twins when Colon walked out for the final frame.

It was reasonable to think that Colon could retire before he even got to August based on the numbers he was putting up earlier in the season, so to have the joy of a complete game on top of the fact that he’s still pitching is pretty great.

Big Sexy Forever.
