The 2018 MLB schedule was released today, and besides the fact that there is only one Opening Day for all teams this year, there are a few other interesting quirks to the schedule as well.
One of those comes from the Oakland A’s, who are holding a game in 2018 that will be completely free for all fans. The special occasion for such an event is to mark the 50th Anniversary of when the A’s first played in the Oakland Coliseum.
The A’s, at this point, have only announced the date of April 17th and that it will be free. They are planning on offering further specifics about the game and fan attendance early next year, but fans should start getting excited about the special event now.
Just think about all the extra beer and hot dogs you could get without having to pay for a ticket!
The A’s say this is most likely one of the first completely free games in baseball history. The game is against the White Sox, so hopefully both teams will start out the year strong next season so fans get a good show with their free entry.
