Ichiro Suzuki returned in the Mariners’ lineup for the first time in seven seasons and, as can be expected, everybody was very happy to welcome him back to Seattle after his time away. He’s been doing OK elsewhere in the league, but Ichiro and the Mariners being reunited just feels correct.
The fans did a great job showing their love for him too, as when he was introduced pre-game the stands got LOUD.
Huge cheers for Ichiro, as you might expect pic.twitter.com/45lB3PEYaC

It’s not surprising, but it is definitely giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Sports are dumb a lot of the time, baseball included, so moments like this are always nice.
Especially because it means that Ichiro isn’t back playing baseball overseas but he’s still here with us, in his original MLB home, about to hit some home runs and hopefully pitch a little bit too if we’re lucky. And he deserves every one of those cheers.
