A dead body was found at SunTrust Park on Tuesday afternoon, the Cobb County Police department has confirmed to SB Nation. According to police, the body was found in a beer cooler at the stadium.
When reached for comment, the Braves said they do not have any more information on the discovery at this time.
Officer Sarah O’Hara of the Cobb County Police Department released the following statement on the discovery.
Cobb County Police Department responded to a call of a deceased person located at Suntrust Park. The deceased person, a third party contractor, was located by another worker of the same company this afternoon. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
The Cobb County Police Department is working with the Atlanta Braves to investigate this incident.
On Wednesday morning, Sarah O’Hara identified the victim as 48-year-old Minnesotan Todd Keeling. O’Hara also shared that there were no other new details to be released at this time.
The Braves are playing the Reds at home Tuesday night as scheduled. We’ll update this post with more information as it becomes available.
