Jacob Volkmann Put On Leave From Coaching While High School Investigates Obama Comments

While Jacob Volkmann has been enjoying a bit of notoriety for his anti-Obama comments made in a post fight interview with Ariel Helwani, I'm not sure being put on leave from his coaching job is where he wanted this wild ride to take him. Volkmann is an assistant coach for a local Minnesota high school and has been put on 'paid administrative leave' while the school delves into an investigation. Watching Youtube videos is an imperative step in the investigative process.

"It's very frustrating that they think that I'm being a bad influence on the students." Volkmann told Sherdog.com. "That's what their reason was [for placing me on leave]."

"I don't even think it's done yet," Volkmann told Sherdog.com on Wednesday. "I've got fricking ‘Inside Edition' coming tomorrow."

This whole thing is getting a bit out of hand. The Secret Service paid Volkmann a visit last week and deemed him to be a non-threat to President Obama. Does the school really need to go any further? This also just adds to my thinking that fighters need to be cut some slack in post-fight interviews. Imagine getting hit in the head for fifteen minutes and then having microphones immediately shoved in your face.
