A rumored switch on the undercard of UFC 137 has been confirmed, as Octagon-newcomer Dustin Jacoby (6-0) has signed-on to replace the injured Tim Credeur against "The Ultimate Fighter 11" veteran Brad Tavares (7-1) on October 29th. Promotion officials finalized the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
Jacoby enters the UFC riding high on an undefeated 6-0 record. The 23-year-old trains with Finney's Hit Squad in Arenzville, Illinois, and carries a perchance for quick finishes, having already collected five first-round stoppages in his young career. He last fought in September, knocking Billy Horne out cold in just 37 seconds.
Across the cage, Tavares hopes to rebound from his first professional setback after being handled by Aaron Simpson at UFC 132. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak inside the Octagon for the 23-year-old former TUF contender, which included a first-round knockout of UFC veteran Phil Baroni.
UFC 137 is scheduled for October 29th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and headlined by welterweight title bout between Georges St. Pierre and Carlos Condit.
