The campy Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! debuts Wednesday night on the Syfy network, and among the bevy of celebrities with cameos are Team Penske teammates Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano.
Logano winner had never heard of the cult classic series about ravenous sharks attacking major metropolises before his PR guy informed about the opportunity to make an appearance. The Daytona 500 winner filmed his scene in March when the Sprint Cup Series visited Auto Club Speedway in Southern California.
"I just kind of went along with it and as I learned more about what it's about, it became funnier to me," Logano said. "I got one line, so I'm going to Hollywood. I actually saw our part -- the whole NASCAR part -- and it's pretty funny. I don't know if it's supposed to be funny, but it's really funny to me."
Logano says just one word -- "that."
"That's my line," he said. "I mean, I freaking nailed it. I did one hell of a job."
Other celebrities appearing in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! include Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, actors David Hasselhoff and Frankie Muniz, talk show host Jerry Springer, professional wrestler Chris Jericho and former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.
Keselowski's screen time isn't any more noticeable than Logano's. But as he watches a shark fall propel out of a tornado, Keselowski does get to utter the trilogy's titular line.
And as a bit of a spoof on Keselowski's role in the spoof film, NASCAR put together a digital short showing just how serious the 2012 Sprint Cup champion took his performance and why he's deserving of award consideration.
