We are nearly at the halfway point of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup season with Sunday's Coke Zero 400 from Daytona International Speedway in Florida, the 17th of 36 races on the docket this year.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. came in third at this track in February at the Daytona 500, a race he has won twice in his career. He last won the Coke Zero 400 in 2001.
Earnhardt, in search of his second win of the season, was awarded the pole position after qualifying was canceled due to rain on Saturday. Earnhardt won at Talladega this season (NASCAR's other restrictor-plate track) and is currently ranked fifth in points, with eight top-five finishes in 2015.
Aric Almirola, who won the 2014 Coke Zero 400, starts in 36th position Sunday.
NBC will televise the race, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. prior to an approximate 8:04 p.m. green flag.
