The third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins Sunday with NASCAR's annual fall stop at Martinsville Speedway. The Virginia short track is the smallest venue on the Sprint Cup schedule, and each of the past two years has had significant implications on the championship playoff.

Start time: Tricia Helfer, the star of the television show "Lucifer", will give the command to start engines at 1:07 p.m. Six minutes later the green flag will wave on the Goody's Fast Relief 500.

Distance: The scheduled distance calls for drivers to complete 500 laps around the half-mile track, totaling 263 miles.

National anthem: The Wake Forest University Spirit of the Old Gold and Black Marching Band will perform "The Star Spangled Banner."

TV/Radio/Stream coverage: NBCSN will carry the television broadcast with its coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. The network will also provide a stream at NBCSports.com. Motor Racing Network will handle the radio broadcast, with SiriusXM NASCAR simulcasting MRN's coverage.

Defending race winner: Capitalizing on Matt Kenseth's take out of leader Joey Logano with 45 laps remaining, Jeff Gordon scored an emotional win that locked him into the championship round. Kenseth was multiple laps behind when he intentionally crashed Logano entering Turn 1 in retaliation for previous incidents between the two. NASCAR later handed Kenseth an unprecedented two-race suspension.
