Denny Hamlin looks to build off his Daytona 500 win last weekend, as the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season moves on to Atlanta for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on Sunday.
Hamlin, who won the closest Daytona 500 in history one week ago, will start in 12th position Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Hamlin won at Atlanta in 2012 and finished third at the track in 2014.
Kurt Busch won the pole position for Sunday with a top qualifying speed of 191.582 mph, and he's trying for a second career win at the event, having also won way back in 2002. Busch finished in 10th place last week in Daytona.
It looked for a moment during Friday's qualifying that Kurt Busch would have to start behind his brother Kyle, but Kyle Busch failed a technical inspection by NASCAR inspectors, bumping him down to starting in 39th position, last in the field on Sunday.
Kyle Busch, last year's Sprint Cup champion, won Atlanta in 2013.
Fox will televise Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 beginning at 12:30 p.m., with full race coverage starting at 1 p.m. Mike Joy will call the race play-by-play with Jeff Gordon, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds as analysts.
