Since Atlanta Motor Speedway was made the second stop during the NASCAR season, the discussion of weather has been very prominent. In 2015. the weather for the Atlanta race was cloudy and very chilly with some rain and drizzle. They managed to get the race complete but it wasn't without some controversy.
Then back in October of 2015 Atlanta Motor Speedway announced a "Perfect Race Weather Guarantee" which stated:
If the daytime high temperature in Hampton, Georgia on Saturday or Sunday of race weekend fails to reach at least 50 degrees as observed by the National Weather Service, or if weather issues postpone the day's activities to a different day and fans are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, fans who do not enter the admission gates on the day the event is held will receive an account credit for the full price of their tickets.
Given the weather this weekend, no one will be getting a credit to their account due to the weather. While last year may have been chilly and damp, 2016 is going to be sunny, dry, and much warmer.
