With six Sprint Cup championships on his résumé, Jimmie Johnson is a fairly recognizable figure within NASCAR and is one of the sport's star drivers. He may not have the same crossover appeal as Dale Earnhardt Jr. or Jeff Gordon, but Johnson is still well-known.
However, Johnson's popularity apparently only goes so far, as Indianapolis Motor Speedway track workers misspelled his name on the No. 48 team's pit stall prior to Sunday's Brickyard 400. Adding to the indignity is that Johnson is a four-time winner at the venerable track.
The error was corrected shortly after Johnson spotlighted the mistake on social media. For those wondering, Jimmy Johnson is a two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach and a Fox Sports NFL analyst.
