Ricky Ledo says he may enter 2013 NBA Draft

Ricky Ledo might head straight to the NBA.

Ricky Ledo has yet to play a college game for the Providence Friars, but he's already considering a leap to the NBA.

Ledo is only a partial qualifier academically at Providence, meaning he can practice with the team but he's not eligible to play in games. Although he says he's 'planning' to return to Providence for his sophomore season next season, he tells Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal that he's at least considered the possibility of entering the 2013 NBA Draft.

"My status is unclear," Ledo told McNamara. "College is a great preparation for life and college has already taught me a lot. I'm looking at every option, both staying in school and looking at the draft."

McNamara reports that NBA scouts have been to Providence practices to watch Ledo. Ledo, a 6-foot-6 wing, was a highly regarded prospect out of high school, but academic concerns -- including attending four different high schools in five years -- have made it difficult to get him eligible.

DraftExpress currently has Ledo going 29th in its 2014 mock draft.
