LaMarcus Aldridge has 24 points and seven rebounds, leading the way as the Portland Trailblazers widened their lead after three quarters, 84-71. It’s a two-man show for the Blazers, with Wesley Matthews joining Aldridge at the top of the stat sheet, scoring 21 points through the first three quarters. Rudy Fernandez has 10 off the bench.
The Blazers took a five-point lead into halftime and used a quick spurt near the end of the third to push the lead into double-digits. Leading by six, Portland closed the quarter on an 8-1 run and now have a firm grasp on control of the game.
Eric Gordon is single-handedly keeping the Clippers in the game with his 24 points, four rebounds and four assists. Not content to let Blake Griffin steamroll them, the Portland post defenders have done a solid job on the all-everything rookie, limiting him to 13 points through three quarters. Griffin does have another double-double, however, adding 14 rebounds to his 13 points. Baron Davis is also in double-figures with 14 points.
After three quarters, it’s the Blazers up on the Clippers, 84-71. For more on the game, check out Blazers Edge and Clips Nation.
