New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire has his team hanging with the Miami Heat after the opening frame, down 24-23 in Florida. Stoudemire’s nine points and four rebounds are both game-highs, and (what the heck!) he’s also tied for the game lead in assists with two. But the Heat have two stars to New York’s one, and so far that’s made the very slim difference.
LeBron James has seven and Dwyane Wade has eight, with each chipping in three rebounds. Wade has missed only once from the floor, and James has gotten to shoot from the line four times.
Miami forward James Jones may be nearing foul trouble, with two already after 12 minutes. With Chris Bosh still out, the Heat interior could become a bigger advantage for Stoudemire.
Oh right, the other Knicks. Danilo Gallinari has seven points after quite a lot of shots. No other Knick has scored more than once, so that’s that.
