The veteran guard has a patellar tendon strain in his right knee which he suffered in the first quarter of the Mavs' win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. After an MRI on Wednesday, it appears the injury may be more serious than the team originally expected.
Fisher has played in nine games since signing a free-agent deal with the Mavericks three weeks ago. The 16-year veteran has started all nine games, averaging 8.6 points and 3.6 assists in 25.4 minutes per contest. Fisher was brought aboard after point guard struggles and a finger injury to Darren Collison made the position a weakness for the team.
