Back and forth all night, the Orlando Magic pulled away from the Los Angeles Lakers late behind Arron Afflalo's 30 points, five assists and five rebounds as the Magic sent the Lakers to their ninth loss of the season, 113-103.
Afflalo combined with Nikola Vucevic, who went for a double-double, and point guard Jameer Nelson, who finished with 19 points and 13 assists, to bring the Magic from down six points early in the fourth quarter to up as many as 12 on the Magic's way to a 10-point victory.
The teams traded baskets all night, as the Lakers got out to a four-point first-quarter lead, but the Magic were able to equalize at half by outscoring the Lakers by four in the second quarter. Glen Davis's double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds to go with his defensive presence helped to keep the damage done by the Lakers' offense to a minimum.
Kobe Bryant finished with 24 points, but his teammates were unable to provide enough production in support, despite four other Lakers scoring in double figures. That included center Dwight Howard's 21 points and 15 rebounds while playing in foul trouble. Metta World Peace scored 15 and grabbed five rebounds in the loss.
