The Charlotte Bobcats coaching search hasn't featured a ton of prominent names to this point, but it looks like things are about to heat up. The team is expected to interview current assistant coach Stephen Silas on Monday and then former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan on Tuesday.
Stephen Silas is the son of last year's head coach Paul Silas, whereas McMillan is a native son of North Carolina as the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell explained in his column on Monday morning.
Probably the most prominent name attached to the Charlotte Bobcats' coaching search - former N.C. State star Nate McMillan - will be in Charlotte tonight and Tuesday to interview with Bobcats management, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to the Observer.
The Bobcats were also set to interview assistant coach Stephen Silas Monday. Silas served as lead assistant to his father, Paul, whose contract was not renewed last month.
McMillan is by far the biggest name included in the search thus far, at least as far as coaching acumen goes (Patrick Ewing might be more well-known), but it probably wouldn't be a bad thing for a young up-and-comer -- like those the Bobcats have already interviewed -- to grow along with this team.
