NBA 3 on 3 Tournament Results: Top Seeds Fall

In the first round of SB Nation's NBA 3 on 3 Tournament, over the course of 16 series, there was only one upset to speak of. Three double digit seeds advanced, but two of those were given the better chance of advancing by our panel of experts. Using dice to determine who actually advances was intended to add an element of randomness to the proceedings, but in the first round it had very little impact.

Welcome to Round 2.

In the East, the Chicago Bulls, with a formidable team of Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah, were significant favorites over the East Leftover team of Brandon Jennings, Gerald Wallace and Roy Hibbert. Given a 71 percent chance to win any single game, the Bulls were instead swept, as the dice came up huge on back-to-back rolls -- 91 and 96. Maybe Rose got hurt again.

Out West, the San Antonio Spurs brought a legendary trio to the tournament in Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan. Playing against the West Leftovers, James Harden, Zach Randolph and Pau Gasol, the Spurs were giving away a lot of size, but held a quickness and experience advantage. The experts gave the Spurs a 61 percent chanceto win any given game, but once again, it didn't matter. The dice came up 65 and 93 and the Spurs were dismissed from the tournament.

So the second round starts off with a bang, as both No. 1 seeds are eliminated. Will the rest of Round 2 be as unpredictable? We'll have to wait and see.
