Chauncey Billups will play for the Detroit Pistons when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves, reports Vince Goodwill of the Detroit News. Billups was missing time due to knee tendonitis. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has started in Billups' place in all 14 games he has missed.
The Pistons backcourt depth was thinning out after being stacked going into the season. Rodney Stuckey left the Pistons' game against the Chicago Bulls Saturday early because of knee soreness stemming from his own issue with knee tendonitis. He also missed the Pistons' game against the Miami Heat on Sunday and is considered questionable Tuesday night.
Billups is averaging a career-low 5.3 points and 2.4 assists per game this season. It's unclear if he will return to his role in the starting lineup or if he will play limited minutes in his first game back. The 16-year veteran was already playing limited minutes in his second stint in Detroit, averaging just 22.1 minutes per game.
