Milwaukee Bucks big man John Henson will miss the team's upcoming three-game road trip because of a high ankle sprain, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Charles F. Gardner.

Henson said he suffered the injury late in Milwaukee's loss in Cleveland on Dec. 20, per Andrew Gruman of FOX Sports Wisconsin. He missed the Bucks' game against the Philadelphia 76ers the next night with what the team termed a bruised knee at the time. Henson managed to suit up for the team's next two contests, but sat out against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night, telling reporters that he thought he had a high ankle sprain but more tests had to be done. With Henson out, Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders will start in the frontcourt.

Henson, who turned 23 years old on Saturday, is averaging 12.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game on the season and shooting 52.7 percent from the field. He's had a particularly good December, with averages of 15.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 53.9 percent shooting in 34 minutes per game.

Milwaukee has lost three straight games and eight of its last nine. The Bucks will play the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns on the road this week.
