Rudy Gay scores 20 points in Toronto Raptors debut

Rudy Gay scored 20 points off the bench in his debut with the Toronto Raptors Friday.

Entering the game to a chorus of 'Rudy' chants, Rudy Gay badly missed his first jumper as a member of the Toronto Raptors in a 98-73 win over the Los Angeles Clippers Friday, but things perked up from there.

Gay entered the game for the first time with five minutes remaining in the first quarter and quickly made an impact. He scored for the first time as a Raptor with 3:19 remaining in the quarter by splitting at the free throw line.

His most memorable plays in the first quarter, however, came when he finished off two lobs from DeMar DeRozan for dunks. Gay scored seven points in the first quarter and finished with 20 points on 8 for 16 shooting in the game. Along with his dunks, he also provided a buzzer-beating three-pointer in the third quarter that brought the crowd in Toronto to its feet. Here are full highlights from Gay's performance:

Gay started February the way he closed January, when he scored 26 points in his final game with the Memphis Grizzlies. His shooting performance was a good sign for Toronto. Gay, who is shooting just 41 percent for the season, made 50 percent or more of his field goals in a game just five times in January and just 10 times this season.
