The Washington Wizards were one of the big winners of the 2013 NBA Draft Lottery, nabbing the No. 3 pick after going in with the eighth-best odds. With that No. 3 pick, many experts believe the Wizards will take Otto Porter, who played his college basketball in Washington, D.C. at Georgetown.
Here are five mock drafts with their selections:
Mock Draft | Wizards' pick |
Jonathan Tjarks, SB Nation | Otto Porter |
Jonathan Givony, DraftExpress/Yahoo! Sports | Anthony Bennett |
Scott Howard-Cooper, NBA.com | Otto Porter |
Chad Ford, ESPN | Otto Porter |
Chris Mannix, Sports Illustrated | Otto Porter |
The Wizards need a small forward, so taking the local kid Porter makes a lot of sense. Porter would mesh well with John Wall and Bradley Beal, creating a potent backcourt/wing trio.
However, the Wizards do like UNLV's Bennett, a bigger body who can play both the small and power forward positions. Bennett is an explosive athlete who can score in a variety of ways, which would help a Wizards offense that struggled at times this year.
