Dwight Howard won't have to wait long to face off against his former team as a member of the Houston Rockets. Howard and the Rockets will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 7, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Howard spurned the Lakers this offseason, instead opting to sign a four-year, $88 million deal with the Rockets. Howard spent just one year in Los Angeles, and it was a nightmarish season filled with injuries, uneven play and rocky relationships with both Mike D'Antoni and Kobe Bryant.
With this date in mind, the question becomes whether Bryant will be back on the court in time to play. Bryant is currently rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon suffered in April, and while he's aiming for a return by the start of the season, there still are some hurdles to clear in the process.
However, knowing Bryant's insane competitive drive, it probably wouldn't be smart to bet against the superstar being back when the Lakers and Rockets get together on Nov. 7.
