Celtics' Rajon Rondo hints at Friday return

If you can decipher Rajon Rondo's latest tweet, it appears that the Celtics will get their star back on Friday, Jan. 17 against the Lakers.

Huzzah, there's finally some good news on the injury front! A few days following a Yahoo! Sports report that Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was targeting Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers for his return, Rondo cryptically confirmed via Twitter on Monday night:

Tweeting the number of seconds from his Feb. 13, 2013 ACL surgery until Friday's tipoff is the most Rondo way possible to announce this news. If you remember, Rondo is the guy who stopped by a Boston school to teach ninth graders algebra at the beginning of last season. He's the guy who was so good at math when he was in high school that his teacher thought he was cheating and gave him special tests, via last February's Sports Illustrated profile. The tweet was clever and understated, like the man himself.

You just knew there wouldn't be a drawn out, effects-laden video for this particular comeback.

The Celtics are 13-26 this season without Rondo and have lost nine straight. Before Rondo's first game back, they will host the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. He will make his return at the exact midpoint of Boston's 82-game schedule. Math!
